WEEE Amendments in Force
The 2009 WEEE Amending Regulations came into force on 1 January. The main changes, as they affect producers, are:
- producers have until 15 November in which to join a compliance scheme for the following compliance period (changed from 15 October);
- B2B producers only have to report data on EEE put on the market once a year, by 31 January in the year following the compliance period, rather than quarterly; and
- the 2007 version of the SIC Code must be used (for Econo-Weee members, this will be done automatically). The Detailed Summary in the 'WEEE Info' menu has been amended to take account of the changes, as has the 'Legislation in Depth' in the Members' Area.
