Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between B2B and B2C?

The terms B2B ('business-to-business') and B2C ('business-to-consumer') are a bit misleading because that is not always what they mean. The important point, as far as a producer is concerned, is not who it sells EEE to but who ends up using it. So, for example, if a producer sells EEE to a retailer, who then sells to a member of the public, this is B2C. On the other hand, if a producer sells EEE directly to a business, or to a business via one or more third parties, this is B2B.

Note that, at law, a 'consumer' is a member of the public and an 'end-user' is a business.
