As a producer, what do I have to do?

As a producer, your obligations are:

  • finance the cost of collection, treatment, recovery and environmentally sound disposal of WEEE;
  • join a Producer Compliance Scheme, such as Econo-Weee;
  • provide certain information to the Scheme;
  • keep records of certain information for four years;
  • disclose your ‘EEE Producer Registration Number’ to distributors to whom you supply EEE;
  • mark EEE with the Wheeled Bin symbol, a date mark and your producer identity mark; and
  • provide information on re-use and treatment on new types of EEE within one year of the EEE being put on the market.
