As a producer, what do I have to do?
As a producer, your obligations are:
finance the cost of collection, treatment, recovery and environmentally sound disposal of WEEE;
join a
Producer Compliance Scheme
, such as Econo-Weee;
provide certain information to the Scheme;
keep records of certain information for four years;
disclose your
‘EEE Producer Registration Number’
to
distributors
to whom you supply EEE;
mark EEE with the
Wheeled Bin symbol
, a
date mark
and your producer identity mark; and
provide information on re-use and treatment on new types of EEE within one year of the EEE being put on the market.
